Junior Competition Information – Season 2026

Team Registrations

When team registrations open, managers can register a team in the appropriate age division.

Registration opens- Thursday July 2nd

Competition starts- Friday September 11th.

Please ensure you register your team in the correct age group. If you accidentally register in a different age group because your preferred division is full, your team will not automatically be transferred. Instead, you will be placed on a waiting list and will need to wait for availability in the correct division.

Important: Please do not register a team unless you are confident you have enough players to fill the team.

Joining a Team

Players must be invited to join a team by their team manager.

Individual players cannot register directly into the competition without first being invited to a team.

Looking for a Team?

If you are unable to find a team or do not wish to start your own team, we will provide an Individual Player Registration Form closer to the season start date.

We will do our best to connect individual players with teams that require additional players.

Player Registration Fees

Each player is responsible for paying their own registration fees.

U6 to U15 Fees: TBA

Registration costs include:

• Club Registration Fee
• Touch Football Australia (TFA) Insurance Fee – $30
• NSW Touch Association (NSWTA) Fee – $30

These insurance and affiliation fees are only paid once per registration period (1 July – 30 June).

Playing Uniform

Each registered player will receive a team cotton playing shirt with a number on the back.

Teams will be allocated a standard range of shirt sizes. If a specific size is required, managers will be able to submit a special sizing request via a form provided by the Association.

Players may wear any suitable shorts or tights on game night.

Footwear

• Football or soccer boots are recommended.
• Metal studs are not permitted.

NEW Age Groups for Season 2026

We are moving to individual age divisions for all junior competitions.

Players may choose to play up an age division if they wish to remain with friends.

Minimum age: 5 years old

Representative & Development Players

Any team containing Representative or Development players must submit a declaration form at least two weeks prior to the competition commencing.

The form must list all Representative and Development players for review.

Representative Player Limits

Teams may have:

• Maximum 3 Representative Players and 0 Development Players
• Maximum 2 Representative Players and 2 Development Players
• Maximum 1 Representative Player and 4 Development Players
• Maximum 5 Development Players and 0 Representative Players

No team may exceed these limits.

Modified Rules (U6, U7 & U8 Only)

To assist player development, the following modifications apply:

• Defenders cannot move forward until the first receiver has caught the ball or the dummy half runs with the ball.
• For minor infringements or 50/50 calls, referees may allow play to continue.
• Coaches may remain on the field during games provided they stay at least 5 metres behind play and do not interfere with referees or the game.

Game times are estimates only and may vary depending on team numbers.

Players in Multiple Teams

Players may register in more than one team; however, Northern Beaches Touch cannot guarantee that game times will not clash.

It is the responsibility of players and families to manage any scheduling conflicts that may arise.
